Call for Papers and Abstracts
The organizing committee of the 18th
Scientific Meeting of the Faculty of Pharmacy invites
interested participants in areas of pharmaceutical &
medical sciences to take part in this extensive meeting
where some major invited speakers (local &
international) will present some critical reviews in the
most recent advances in pharmaceutical & medical
sciences. In addition, research papers are welcomed in
all the following specialties for oral or poster
sessions:
Pharmaceutics & Industrial Pharmacy,
Pharmacognosy, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Pharmacology &
Toxicology, Microbiology & Parasitology, Pathology,
Public Health, Biotechnology, Clinical Pharmacy, Quality
Assurance, And All Basic Medical Sciences.
1.1 PREPARATION OF ABSTRACTS
The abstract must contain:
·
Title / Author(s) / Institution.
·
Brief introduction and objective(s).
·
Brief methodology.
·
Brief results & discussion (with graphs and tables
if possible).
·
Conclusions
·
2-3 references.
1. Abstracts must be typed in 12-point
Times New Roman font (for title only) and in size 10
point for the rest of the text, fitted in 2-columns, and
fit on a single side of A4 (tables & graphs).
2. There are no restrictions on word count
for the abstract as long as it does not exceed 2-pages.
3. Authors should specify whether or not
they wish the Abstract to be considered for a possible
Oral Communication (Podium) presentation or Poster
presentation.
4. Abstracts will only be accepted if
submitted online, or delivered directly to the faculty
of Pharmacy, Arab Medical University, Benghazi. P.O.Box:

1.2 ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF ABSTRACTS
Each submission will be acknowledged to the
corresponding author on receipt and assigned an abstract
number. This number must be quoted in any
correspondence.
1.3 ACCEPTANCE
Abstracts will be reviewed for acceptance
by the Adjudicating Panel immediately upon receipt and
within 1-week period the corresponding author will be
advised to the outcome [acceptance, date of presentation
and the format (poster/ oral presentation)].
1.3 ORAL (PODIUM) PRESENTATIONS
Oral presentations will be made of some
selected abstracts. Full instructions will be provided
following the acceptance of submissions, but for initial
guidance oral communications will be limited to a
presentation time of 15 minutes, followed by a period of
5 minutes discussion. Corresponding Authors will be
notified if their abstract has been selected for an oral
presentation.
1.5 POSTER DISPLAY
Posters should be prepared in PORTRAIT
format. A panel of 2 meters high and 1 meter wide will
be made available for each poster. Posters should be
self explanatory as presenters need only be available at
specific times to answer questions. Lettering should be
legible at 2 meters distance (recommended text size of
not less than 18 points).
Posters will be displayed for one day of
the Conference. The Presenting Author must be present
during attended periods, which will be communicated at a
later stage.
1.6 PUBLICATION
A ll accepted abstracts presented at the
Conference will be published in Conference Proceedings
Abstract Book which will be available at the Conference.
The published abstracts will appear in the final form
accepted by the Adjudicating Panel and for which the
author has full responsibility. Abstracts will also be
available on the web at http://www.amu.edu.ly
The closing date for receipt of abstracts is 1st
April 2010.
